I watch the AFI countdown of the top 10 films of 10 genres last night.

Most of them, I had no problems with. But, in the "Sports" genre, they included the movie "Caddyshack", but left out "A League fo Their Own".

Come on! Caddyshack was funny, but to leave out League in favor of it?

Has anyone watched this? I missed the first episode few episodes and didn't want to start it in the middle so I waited until it was available on Netflix. So, I'm watching season 1. I like it so far (I'm on episode 7) but it's not historically correct, of course. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is very convincing as that egomaniac Henry VIII. I absolutely love the costumes and jewelry.

In a recent interview, Rob Schnieder said that the audience for his recent movie "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" might be less since it has somewhat touchy subject matter (Adam Sandler plays an Isreali counter-terrorist who fakes his death and comes to America to persue a new life).

Would the politcal content of a movie alienate you? A lot of movies which had the Iraq war as a plot element have tanked, and I know someone who told me (quite plainly) that he never see a...

...but, because of her attitude and wild streak, she isn't taken seriously and rightfully so at times. Though how much of that is just the media sensationing things? Anyway if you ever get a chance to see "Georgia Rule", watch it. She and Jane Fonda are outstanding in that.

I'm not usually a Tom hanks fan. Most of the movies he's in are very good but don't 'stay' with me. They are entertaining. Charlie Wilson's War, directed by Mike Nichols, entertainingly delivers the back up story of how the US got our ass involved in Afghanistan. It's a small movie, filmed economically, as are all movies produced by Tom Hanks. The history is solid and irrefutably accurate.

Julia Roberts' role seems amputated and one really wonders...
